A grade six student from St. Matthew’s Elementary School in St. John’s is making a big difference in her community.
Hannah Brown is one of three national grand prize winners in Habitat for Humanity Canada’s national “Meaning of Home” contest. She won for her poem, Home.
Over 8,000 students from across the country entered the contest. Each entry earned a $10 donation to their local Habitat for Humanity. But the grand prize winners – like Hannah – earned a $25,000 donation to the Habitat for Humanity build of their choice.
Hannah wants the recipients of the prize to feel like she does, safe, surrounded by family and loved.
Hannah also won an iPad and a pizza party for her class.
