The Iron Ore Company of Canada wants to establish a new explosives facility at its Labrador City mine site.
The company says it will result in an upgrade to working efficiency and employee safety. It will also provide additional capacity for the current and potential future mining activity at the Carol Lake project. IOC will be capable of producing 85,000 metric tonnes per year of bulk ammonium nitrate explosive.
The project has been registered with the Environmental Assessment process, and people have until July 4th to comment.
