Last year saw a record number of crews at the Royal St. John’s Regatta and there’s no sign of any significant drop-off this summer. Last year was the 200th anniversary of the rowing spectacle on Quidi Vidi Lake. It was a record year with 150 crews, mostly female.
It has been a miserable spring weatherwise, but the president of the Royal St. John’s Regatta, Chris Neary, says they already have 94 crews registered for the big race.
