“It only takes a second for a cozy fire to burst into a blazing inferno,” says the St. John’s Regional Fire Department.
The fire department is encouraging folks to practice safety tips when enjoying outdoor fires.
Whether you are using an outdoor fireplace or fire pit , the proper precautions should be taken. SJRFD says the ideal time for a fire is when wind speeds are no more than 25 km/h. They remind people to always keep an eye to your fire and have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby.
