RCMP say some remains found in a brook in Witless Bay on the weekend belong to an animal.
A fisherman caught the bones on his line and contact authorities fearing they might be human.
Officials say the remains are not human and belong to an animal, although the specific type of animal has not yet been identified.
Amid plenty of attention and speculation among locals, the RCMP were called after something biological in nature was discovered in the water at Lundrigan's Rd in Witless Bay earlier in the day. The specimen was taken for further testing. #nltraffic @VOCMNEWS pic.twitter.com/6tcGZrcrc6
