One man was taken into custody without incident following a police operation in Mount Pearl over the lunch hour.
RNC converged on the Spruce Avenue area of the city after complaints involving reports of a firearm.
The K-9 unit and armed officers fanned out and some roads were closed as police conducted their investigation.

The road is no longer blocked at Spruce Avenue, near Stephen Thistle Park.
After a few tense moments police took a young man into custody, on reported possible weapons offence.
