Their presence may not be all that obvious but outlaw motorcycle gangs are operating in our province.

Today, the RCMP began a campaign to keep the public informed about local criminal gang activity.

RCMP Superintendent and Federal Criminal Operations Officer Deanna Hill says while work like Project Bombard has disrupted better known groups like the Hells Angels, through the Vikings Motorcycle Club, there are still outlaw gangs in the province.

She says there are two “1%” gangs active in the province right now—Bacchus and the Outlaws—which participate in drug trafficking and violence.
