Work is ramping up in the White Rose field, after a major oil spill halted production on Husky Energy’s SeaRose FPSO last year.
Husky says production resumed at its Southern Drill Centre on Wednesday, after the company’s startup plan was approved by the C-NLOPB.
Following a series of risk assessments and due diligence activities, the board gave Husky the go-ahead to resume activity at its Southern Drill Centre.
Preparations included leak testing at the drill centre, and the flushing of flowlines at the South White Rose Extension, Southern and North Amethyst Drill Centres. Oil, gas and water in the lines were displaced to the SeaRose.
Work was halted in November, when a faulty flowline connector triggered the spill of 250,000 litres of oil.
