A man in Conception Bay North says he’s shocked and disgusted by the amount of garbage he’s noticed in the Carbonear area.

Rick King of Bristol’s Hope says the brook running through the busy commercial area off the main highway is littered with plastic bags and other garbage. He thinks it needs attention.

He says there is a significant amount of trash in the brook running past Tim Horton’s, through the town and down to the harbour.

Meanwhile, a community cleanup took place in the town earlier today.

According to a post on the town’s Facebook page, several volunteers were out cleaning up throughout the day.
