A well known Newfoundland musician, who performed with the likes of Figgy Duff, has passed away.

Gerald Campbell passed away at the age of 86. Campbell was a recipient of the NL Folk Arts Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, and on his 85th birthday was awarded the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal for his cultural contributions.

His talents were much sought after and in addition to Figgy Duff, Campbell also played with Kelly Russell and Pamela Morgan.

Visitation on Sunday, June 9th at Holy Rosary Parish in Branch. Campbell will be laid to rest on Monday at 2:00 pm. He was 86.
