A critically-acclaimed Newfoundland author has added two more awards to her collection.
Lisa Moore won both the Alistair Macleod Prize for Short Fiction and the $25,000 Thomas Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award for her collection of short stories “Something for Everyone” at the 2019 Atlantic Book Awards last week.
She says the arts community is one which is tightly-knit and where people are supportive of each other.
She says the topics covered are often based on her own experiences.
She was in Orlando two weeks after the Pulse nightclub shooting and wrote about the immense grief people were feeling at the time.
