Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada are encouraging people to spend more time with friends and family and less in front of screens.
“Unplug to Connect” is about getting kids some face to face time, rather than just FaceTime, encouraging people to shut down the devices for an hour or more.
Jared Morrow says giving children and adults an excuse to take a break from the phone and build those connections with those around them will have life-long benefits.
He says it’s often a challenge for busy parents. He says it isn’t always possible, but as much as they can, people should try to take a break from phones and screens and make it a part of their routine.
