Fingerprints taken from a taxi cab seized as part of the investigation into the stabbing death of 36-year-old Jonathan Collins in 2017 are a match for a victim.
That from Forensic Identification Officer Sgt. Ron Simms of the RNC. Simms was on the stand today at the second degree murder trial of Craig Pope, accused in Collins death.

Both Collins and Pope were allegedly in the taxi in question on the afternoon of September 7. Following an altercation on Alderberry Lane, the Crown alleges Pope left the scene in the same cab. Pope was arrested shortly afterwards in the Elizabeth Avenue area
Sgt. Simms presented a report to the jury today, including the results of four fingerprints taken from the rear windshield of the cab. In his photo book, the fingers were marked with sticky notes. They were a match for Collins.

Simms also swabbed what he believed to be blood found in the vehicle. The swabs were send to the national crime lab for testing.
