Hockey NL held its AGM and Awards Banquet over the weekend in Gander.

Inducted into the Provincial Hockey Hall of Fame in the player category were Sheldon Currie, Pat Dempsey, Harold Druken and Bob O’Neill.

Dec Lecour was inducted in the Builder category with Tracey Coady of the Southern Shore Minor Hockey Association being named with the Brian Wakelin Executive of the Year Award.

Minor Hockey Association of the Year when to the Avalon Minor Hockey Association while meritorious awards went to Brian Roberts with the Stephenville Minor Hockey Association, Leigh Ann Ryder of the Bonavista Trinity Minor Hockey Association, Paul Hope of the Labrador West Minor Hockey Association, Donnie Power of the Northeast Minor Hockey Association, and Ann Sheppard of the Bay d’Espoir Minor Hockey Association.

Brian Ryan of CBN got the Junior Hockey Meritorious Award, Pat Rose of the Conception Bay Blues got the C.J. McCarthy Memorial Senior Award, Denise Fagan of Mount Pearl received the Female Hockey Promotion Award, Debbie Bouzane of Gander received the Joe Byrne Development Award, and Kevin Barrett of Gander got the Ron Healey Memorial Award. Lain Hollett of CBS received the Ray Bowe Award of Merit.

Minor Hockey Scholarships went to Josh Griffin, of the Cee Bees Minor Hockey Association and Mark Fowlow of the Bay d’Espoir Minor Hockey Association.

The recipient of the 2019 Jim Stirling/B.F. Lorenzetti Scholarship is Emily Parsons of St. John’s.
