Two basketball fans from St. John’s were at the Raptors game last night and say it was worth every penny.

The Raptors seemed to have it in the bag with a 6-point lead with three minutes left to play but then the defending champs let loose with a flurry of 3-pointers. Game six goes Thursday night in Oakland with the Raptors leading 3-2.

Adam Pearcey and Kyle Hennessey bought five tickets after the Milwaukee Bucks series when they realized that they would be in Toronto during the final.

Adam and Kyle realized that they would be in Toronto for game five of the final so they shelled out $940 each for five tickets. Kyle put them on his credit card, then got a call from his bank to verify the purchase.

They say it was worth every penny despite the disappointing outcome.

Kyle says he thought for sure the Raptors were going to win. Adam says it was heartbreaking but incredibly exciting to watch.

It is one that got away from Toronto – a letdown by the team when they needed it most. Kyle Lowry’s buzzer-beater for the NBA championship missed badly. As a result, the Golden State Warriors stave off elimination with a 106-105 victory over the Raptors last night to force game six Thursday in Oakland.

The Warriors trailed by six with about three minutes to play but then a flurry of 3-pointers got them in position for the victory.

Earlier on, Warriors star Kevin Durant went down with an injury. Some fans cheered, a reaction which goes against everything in and not in the book of sport. His teammate, Steph Curry, was disappointed with the reaction but also said that was not his experience with fans in the City of Toronto. He used to live there and still has family there.
