A local photographer was on hand to capture an iceberg off Grates Cove collapse under its own weight in spectacular fashion.
Michael Winsor of Newfoundland Photo Tours was enjoying lunch when he heard a great crack, like a thunderclap, and he grabbed for his camera.
The iceberg he had just been filming with a drone was collapsing.

As the berg shattered and fell into the ocean he shot dozens of pictures, documenting the whole process.
Winsor says the only other people around to see it were a couple of tourists who had never seen an iceberg before. You can see the photos and video below and more at Winsor’s page.
