A passenger in a single-vehicle accident on the TCH between Brigus Junction and the Veterans Memorial Highway yesterday morning suffered serious injuries.

RCMP in Holyrood say the person was ejected from the vehicle as a result of not wearing a seat belt.

The driver was also injured, but not seriously.

Meanwhile a man remains in hospital in serious condition after a collision with a car yesterday afternoon on Cathedral Street and Veterans Memorial.

Traffic between Harbour Grace and Carbonear was tied up significantly beginning around 3:00 p.m. as the area was closed while traffic investigators were on scene.

RCMP say the driver was not at fault and the investigation is ongoing.
