The jury heard from more witnesses, today, at the murder trial of 33-year-old Craig Pope. He’s facing second degree murder after allegedly stabbing 36-year-old Jonathan Collins during a daylight altercation on September 7, 2017.

On the afternoon in question, it’s alleged both the accused and the victim were in a Jiffy cab, when the vehicle stopped on Alderberry Lane in St. John’s, and an altercation occurred in the street.

Three more witnesses who were in the area that day took the stand this morning for the Crown.

One of the witnesses live on Alderberry Lane, and described seeing the commotion out his window.

He says a shirtless man got out of the taxi, slapping the vehicle, telling the other man—who was wearing a red stripe shirt—to get out.

The man also cited a white box truck in the area, and a man watching on. This was allegedly Craig Pope’s father, who is expected to testify at his son’s trial.

Neither of today’s witnesses cited seeing a weapon.
