The MHA for Harbour Grace-Port de Grave says work is well underway on a new 4,100-square-metre school to replace Coley’s Point Primary.
Pam Parsons says contractors were on the scene Wednesday morning pouring concrete for the school’s foundation.
Parsons says about 80 per cent of the site work—such as grounds clearing and grading—is also complete.
She says things are well underway towards their goal of opening the school by early 2021.
The $16.2-million contract is held by JMJ Holdings to replace the existing school, which is aging and overcrowded.
