One person was taken to hospital following a cooking mishap last evening.
Shortly after 11:00 p.m. police and firefighters were called to a possible structure fire at a home at the east end of Gower Street in the City’s downtown.
Shortly after arrival they discovered a grease fire, with one man injured. He was taken to hospital as a precaution with injuries not believed to be serious.
A fan was used to clear smoke from the home which had received some minor damage, with remaining tenants permitted to return to the residence.
