A man who claims Craig Pope told his father he stabbed Jonathan Collins minutes after the act will return to the stand this morning.
Keith Doran was working for Hiscock Rentals in September 2017, and on the afternoon Collins was stabbed, Doran was making deliveries in a truck with Craig Pope Senior.
He returns today for cross examination by the Defence, after recounting his version of what happened for the jury yesterday.
Doran says the two were en route to a delivery when they stopped on Alderberry Lane, and pulled up next to a cab with three men onboard. He says Pope gave a man he determined was his son money. Minutes later an altercation broke out.
The witness testified he didn’t see the accused leave the scene, but that they caught up with the taxi afterwards, and that when Pope Senior asked his son what he did to that man, Doran says the accused answered, “I stabbed him.”
The trial continues.
