The Green Party of Canada has announced that Newfoundland comedy legend, actor and activist Greg Malone will be the party’s candidate in the riding of Avalon.
Malone is an alumnus of Codco and Wonderful Grand Band and has a keen interest in the environment.
Leader Elizabeth May welcomes Malone, saying she is a “huge fan” of his work, and is impressed by his dedication to activistm.
He ran for the New Democrats in a byelection in St. John’s West in 2000 narrowly losing to PC Loyola Hearn.
