It’s case closed at the second degree murder trial of 33-year-old Craig Pope.
Supreme Court Justice Vikas Khaladkar told the 13 jurors this afternoon to return to court 10 a.m. on Thursday, and to bring toothbrushes and enough clothes for deliberations.
After two weeks of testimony, the Crown rested its case—the defence chose not to call any evidence.
Pope is facing second degree murder in the stabbing death of 36-year-old Jonathan Collins. It happened during daylight on September 7, 2017, on Alderberry Lane in St. John’s.
Following closing remarks by counsel, Justice Khaladkar will give his final charge to the jury.
Deliberations are expected to begin Thursday.
