The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is working with Nalcor as it prepares to meet new Canadian dam regulations.

Nalcor operates a dam at Grand Falls-Windsor, the largest of three on the mighty Exploits River.

Mayor Barry Manuel says Nalcor must meet new federal safety regulations, but the town wants to make sure that whatever is put in place enhances the area.

He says they want to make sure that fencing is aesthetically pleasing and that the river is still accessible to locals and visitors alike.
