July marks the anniversary of the MacMorran Community Centre, a vital part of the Brophy Place neighbourhood in which it is established.
The centre has been serving the people of the surrounding neighbourhood for 35 years.
Opposition Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, Ches Crosbie, says the centre began as a clothing exchange and food bank under St. Pius X Parish.
It has since expanded to offer other key services to the community. Crosbie says none of the work there would be possible without the devoted efforts of the late Brother Jim McSheffrey and the centre’s many volunteers.
