An elementary school in St. John’s is this year’s winner of the Inclusive Education Award.
Roncalli Elementary took home the award that is given out annually to a K-12 school that has shown spirit in creating a place that is welcoming and inclusive for students with an intellectual disability.
Education Minister, Brian Warr, brought congratulations in the House of Assembly earlier this week.
He says the school has worked hard to ensure all students feel welcome, safe and accepted.
Warr says Roncalli was presented with the award for their dedicated and committed effort to ensuring that every student is a valued and important member of the school community, and that all students receive a high quality education in a caring and inclusive environment.
