The first official day of summer may not be on the calendar until tomorrow but people are being asked to roll up the sleeves today for the annual VOCM Summer Blood Drive.
In an effort to meet demands for blood products, Canadian Blood Services needs to fill over 400 appointments by July 6th.
Today’s blood drive will take place at 7 Wicklow Street in St. John’s from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.. There will also be a mobile clinic in Marystown today form 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Marystown Hotel.
There is a particular demand on 0 negative blood but all types are needed.
Appointments can be booked in advance online through blood.ca, by calling 1-888-2-donate and by downloading the GiveBlood App.
