St. John’s International Airport has achieved an unenviable weather mark.
For only the second time since weather data has been kept, the temperature failed to reach 20 degrees at YYT before the official start to summer.
The last full day of spring was yesterday but PAL Airlines and Aerospace meteorologist Brian Walsh says the only other time the airport did not achieve 20 degrees at some point during spring was 1943.
As the climate in the Arctic Circle heats up, it continues to destabilize the jet stream forcing colder arctic air southward over North America.
