An American magician with Newfoundland roots has just finished up a trip to the province.
Penn Jillette tweeted out early yesterday morning, “I love you Newfoundland! Goodbye for now.”

Jillette has historic connections to Carbonear through the Gilletts. His grandfather left the province for the States.
Jillette apologized back in 2017 after drawing ire from people in this province, following comments he made about his heritage in an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” For that, he apologized multiple times—particularly to those who wrote to him directly.
Jillette was visiting the province with his family on vacation.
