An online portal is coming for people to share their thoughts on democratic reform.
Justice Minister Andrew Parsons provided an update on the process, first announced late last year. He says they have had discussions with the opposition parties and are exploring reforming an all-party committee.
Parsons says they want feedback from the public similar to that established during the cannabis legalization process or the upcoming plastic bag ban. Parsons says it’s much better for the committee to have public perspective than going in with just their own pre-determined perspectives.
He would like to see some meetings over the summer.
He says it’s a chance for all residents to review the purpose of the committee, then comment on what they think are important issues.
