The daughter of a woman who disappeared from her St. Anthony home over two years ago is expressing frustration after rumours started swirling over the weekend that Jennifer Hillier-Penney had been found.
The 38-year-old disappeared without a trace in November of 2016. She was last seen at her Husky Drive home in St. Anthony.
Her daughter, Marina Penney, took to Facebook on the weekend to set right rumours that started circulating after a fisherman reported an unusual find while out fishing.
Speculation immediately began that the plastic and rope he found were wrapped around human remains, prompting some to go as far as to say that the remains had been positively identified.
Marina Penney says after failing to hear back from police, she contacted the fisherman himself, who confirmed that no remains were found. She says hopes that their mother’s remains were finally found were immediately “crushed.”
She says it was hard enough to deal with, let alone being messaged by people telling her the search was finally over. She vows her family’s fight is not over yet.
