A new multi-purpose building is in the works for a Labrador community.
The Town of St. Lewis is getting a new multi-purpose building, which includes a firehall, valued at over $470,000.
Cabinet minister and area MHA, Lisa Dempster, made the announcement on Friday as part of National Indigenous Peoples Day.
The provincial government is pitching in over $255,000 for the project, the town will contribute $170,000 with $100,000 of that coming from the NunatuKavut Community Council.
NunatuKavut president, Todd Russell, says they look forward to continuing their work with St. Lewis, other communities in NunatuKavut and government on infrastructure and initiatives that advance overall health and well being.
