A local company that makes salt from the sea is up for a $50,000 prize, but they need your votes to get it.

Peter Burt and Robin Crane, moved their salt-making business from St. John’s to Bonavista two years ago.

They say that the Bonavista community has been very welcoming and they couldn’t be happier with their choice.

The company is currently one of three national finalists in the Molson Partnership contest. They need your votes to take home the $50,000 prize.

He says the community has been great, they’ve gotten involved in community events and they love it in Bonavista.

Burt says it would mean a lot to them to win the big prize. Burt says they could use the money to buy new equipment, pay some bills and really push the company to the next level.

Newfoundland Salt Company products are available across the country and internationally through online sales. They’ve even shipped as far as Australia and Hungary.
