It was a close call for the occupants of a pickup truck during the heavy rainfall that washed away a portion of Route 510 in Labrador yesterday.
According to area MHA Perry Trimper, a truck was trying to forge across the road when part of it gave way. The truck became stuck, but the occupants were able to get out safely on the other side of the road.

Those people were left stranded, and Trimper says that’s when an eyewitnesses sprang into action. The person ran to the depot and got them to call the RCMP to help the stranded people.
Trimper says the area will be closed down for a while.
He says it is going to take a while to repair the road which incurred extensive damage due to high water levels.
