Government is putting some money up to improve cell service in Bauline.
The announcement comes tomorrow at 11:00 am. The minister responsible, Christopher Mitchelmore, will do the honours.
Meanwhile, two communities on the province’s west coast have raised funds to bring a cell tower to their region. Residents from Mainland and Three Rock Cove raised $80,000 through talent shows, dances and door knocking.
Their main concern and reason for the desire for cell service is safety.
Carolina Herrera, the executive director of NL Francophone Economic Development and Employability Network, says the cell service is a crucial element for economic development, population retention and tourism.
