It’s shaping up to be a sunny holiday Monday in metro for those with the day off.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace Meteorologist, Brian Walsh says an intense “summer” storm just off central Newfoundland yesterday provided cloudy skies with occasional showers, cool temperatures and gusty winds to much of the island over the weekend.
However, Walsh says it’s going to be a nice day today with a mix of sun and cloud and temperatures in the mid- to high-teens.
Meanwhile, St. John’s International Airport recorded its first 20 degree day of 2019 on Saturday.
The peak temperature was 23 degrees Celsius and it’s the second longest wait for a 20-degree day at YYT since records began in 1942.
The longest wait was 1943.
