Two men in their forties were picked up yesterday for separate assaults in the metro area.

In Torbay RNC officers got a call and picked up a 48-year-old on charges of assault and mischief to property. That was at 2:30 p.m..

Then less than an hour later a 40-year-old was arrested in CBS after an assault, this time on a police officer.

Backup was called for, but the officer fortunately did not sustain any injury. The man was held in the lock-up for court.
