A local screenwriter from Wesleyville is giving up his job at the family business to work with Warner Brothers in Hollywood.
Chris Lewis Carter signed a contract with Warner Brothers this week to make one of his scripts into a feature horror film.
Carter has been writing since he was old enough to hold a pencil but has made a real push to make it his career over the past ten years.
When asked why he gravitates towards horror, Carter says he fell in love with the genre after having the wits scared out of him by the film, Child’s Play, when he was a kid. But it was all worth it.
Carter says it is absolutely a dream come true and its been his end goal for a long time. He never really thought he’d get there so its all been a little surreal. It has been a lot of hard work, a lot of writing and a lot of patience.
Carter says the feature could be released as soon as 2020 or 2021 but that release dates are often a moving target in the film industry.
