NAPE is sounding the alarm on ambulance red alerts after an ATIPP request showed a significant amount of time during which ambulances were not available for waiting calls in the Eastern Health region.
VOCM News first brought you concerns about ongoing problems regarding Red Alerts back in May.
NAPE President Jerry Earle says red alerts are grouped into two categories, Level 1 means there are no ambulances available and calls waiting. Level 2 means there are no ambulances available, but no calls waiting.
He says in March of this year alone, there were 16.78 hours under Level 1 or Level 2 alerts.
