Nobody was at home this afternoon when the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to a house fire on Frecker Drive.
Acting Platoon Chief Gerry O’Neill with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department says they arrived to find heavy smoke. Two crews entered the home, checking the upper level apartment and the basement apartment. Shortly after, they gave the all clear that nobody was home.
O’Neill says they had the fire out in short order.
From the outside, barely any damage is visible, however O’Neill says there is heavy smoke, fire and water damage inside, and the kitchen was gutted.
