Everything is on schedule to complete phase two of the five-year Water Street Rehabilitation Project on-time.
That from St. John’s City Councillor Dave Lane.
Lane says crews are now working to put down the final layer of pavement, which should be completed by Canada Day.
Lane says the public should expect to see some finishing touches following Canada Day, a traffic reduced to one-lane for the first two or three days.
In addition to a fresh black-top and sidewalks, Lane says they’ve added some new features, including bump outs on sidewalk corners.
Lane says that’s good for accessibility, and says it opens the opportunity for businesses to allow for outside seating.
