Health Canada has issued a Canada-wide recall on certain MacBook Pro laptops. The batteries in the affected computers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
The recall is for 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop computers that were sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017. They have 15.4 inch (diagonal) display, 2.2-2.5 GHz processors, 256 GB-1 TB solid state storage, two thunderbolt 2 ports, two USB 3 ports, and one HDMI port.
In Canada, 26,000 computers were sold with one incident reported, in the United States 432,000 computers were sold with 26 incidents reported.
Health Canada says that if you own one of these laptops you should stop using it immediately and contact Apple to see if your computer is included in the recall.
