A grade 12 student from Stephenville High School has been named as the winner of the provincial government’s poster and essay contest marking International Year of the Salmon.
The contest asked Kindergarten to Grade 12 students across the province to create a poster or an essay on what salmon conservation means to them.
This year’s winner was Amber Gibbon.
All entries will be displayed at Salmonier Nature Park and the winners will be part of the park’s new interpretive salmon exhibit.
