The Canada Day fireworks in St. John’s are at last going ahead today.

The City announced that the display, to be launched from Quidi Vidi Lake, will go ahead tonight at 10:00 p.m..
Mayor Danny Breen says the go/no go for fireworks has to be given early in the day, as the show takes quite a while to set up and needs to be done safely.
The fireworks had been cancelled the previous two days due to fog and rain.
