Husky admits that some residual oil could be released when a flowline connector is replaced, restoring connectivity to the South White Rose Extension Drill Centre.
The flowline connection was broken after a massive storm in the offshore back in November, causing the release of 250,000 litres of oil into the ocean. The flowline was plugged in March.
Husky officials are hoping to reconnect the two ends of the flowline in the coming days if weather conditions are favourable.
The work will be conducted by the vessel Skandi Vinland.
