Drag excellence will be walking the stage in St. John’s next Saturday.

Renowned drag queen Aja will be performing along with local queens like Sherry Hibiscus, Penny Dreadful, and drag king Johnny Diamond and at Club One.

It’s the first production for local drag presenter Haus of Atlantica.

Aja has appeared on two seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which producer Crystal Thornhill credits with kicking off the explosion of drag performers in Newfoundland and Labrador.

She says drag has been in Newfoundland as long as there’s been drag, but in the last few years it’s exploded with more people wanting to see live shows, and even perform in them.
