Opening night is fast approaching for a new musical titled, No Change in the Weather.
Members of the media were invited to a sneak peak of the show, which is directed by Ruth Lawrence.
The story takes place in the fictional town called God’s Back Pocket and it explores the impact that Joey Smallwood and the Churchill Falls deal had on the province.
The musical will feature a number of traditional Newfoundland songs as well as a brand new number written by Alan Doyle just for this show.
Bernie Stapleton, who wrote the play’s script, says that you can expect the songs Newfoundlanders know and love, but with a new twist.
She suggests that guests should come prepared to have a lot of fun. During rehearsals, Stapleton says she has a hard time staying in her seat. She says be prepared to laugh, cry and sing along.
