A 9-year old boy’s wish has finally come true.
Leeland Hill celebrated his first moments with his Great Nanny at a “Pretty Party” in Conception Bay South. As soon as he showed up he gave her a big hug.
The party was filled with friends, family, live music, dancing and a number of four-legged friends who wanted to meet Leeland. There were RNC horses, Newfoundland dogs and even a goat.
Hill has been diagnosed with a terminal brain condition, and on Monday he was granted his most heartfelt wish to travel from his home in Halifax to Newfoundland to spend some time with his Great Nanny.
He arrived in Newfoundland earlier this week and was escorted across the island with the help of RCMP.
The story has so captivated the public, the attention has been overwhelming. Carol Throne, Leeland’s Grandmother says that the family never expected the publics response to be so big.
Thorne says the response has been “crazy”. She says they never expected his wish to reach this far. She believes Leeland has touched so many lives because his wish was so sincere.
