It may have been a grey foggy day but that didn’t hide the rainbow filled streets in downtown St. John’s today.
Thousands of people filled the streets for the annual St. Johns Pride Parade.

The day began with the raising of the pride flag with Mayor Danny Breen at City Hall followed by the parade which left Gower Street and made it’s way to Bannerman Park at 1:00 p.m..

Yohei Sakai the founder and artistic director of The St. John’s Gay Men’s Chorus kicked off the parade by singing Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”.

Sakai says the group was very excited as this is their first time singing at pride.
