A crime spree that saw three vehicles stolen in three hours has landed a 20-year-old-man in jail.
Metro police received the initial call around 7:30 yesterday evening that a vehicle had been stolen in St. John’s. A short time later, calls began coming in that the same vehicle was spotted driving recklessly.
The suspect then abandoned that vehicle and stole another one, this time in Portugal Cove St. Phillips. That vehicle was eventually abandoned as well, and the suspect stole yet another vehicle in the east end of St. John’s.
The RNC located and arrested the driver around 11 p.m. after he bailed out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
The man is facing a list of charges including theft of the motor vehicles, possession OF stolen property, flight from police, dangerous driving, and resisting arrest.
He will appear in court today.
